BTCC 2018 Fires Into Life

We’re avid followers of motorsport in all its forms here at ITG, though our passion for high-octane action isn’t merely of personal interest, it’s what drives us forward, inspires us to look for innovative solutions to engineering dilemmas, and allows us to test our products in the harshest of conditions. 2018 is shaping up to be an especially busy year for the ITG competition department, with our race-spec offerings having been announced as the filter of choice for some of the UK’s most competitive teams. With this in mind, we thought we’d guide you through the two British Touring Car teams using ITG hardware in 2018, Honda Halfords Yuasa Racing and Team Power Maxed Racing

The latest FK8 Civic Type R forms the basis of the new Team Dynamics racer

Honda Halfords Yuasa Racing

The dominant force in British touring car racing for almost a decade (and way, way longer if you count its Team Dynamics guise), Matt Neal’s team has will forever be associated with its link to Honda, so much so that it’s now basically a work entity – a very, very rare thing in modern touring car racing. This year sees a new face alongside Neal for the first time in 13 years, Gordon Shedden having made way for the Dan Cammish, a veteran of the Porsche Carrera Cup series. One thing that hasn’t changed is the team’s commitment to ITG, with all the team’s Civic racers having benefited from our advanced induction systems, and this year will be no different.

It’s a new look for the Power Maxed Astra Ks this year, but we expect the team to continue to punch well above its weight

Team Power Maxed Racing

Few teams have managed to make as much of an impression on the BTCC grid in as short a span of time as Power Maxed Racing, certainly in the sport’s modern era. The decision to upgrade from worthy but outdated Chevrolet Cruzes in time for the 2017 season proved to be a wise investment, with the Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra Ks becoming one of the most potent all round packages on the grid, rising from the mid-field to challenge the established order by the end of the season.

The ITG-Power Maxed Racing partnership continues into 2018, and we’ve also opted to work together away from the track by forming a technical partnership. This will ultimately result in a selection of jointly developed induction products, the “PMR by ITG” range. We’ll be bringing you more information on these in the coming weeks and months.
